A few years ago now I worked on and completed a 52 week project of publishing an image per week for a whole year. At times it was a great struggle and times I had a glut of images to choose from. For 2017 I decided to do something similar, but without needing to commit to shooting every week.
Instead I have come up with my monthly review – my favourite images of each preceding four weeks. Each month I will collect a few images from the previous month that I have either shot or newly processed (I do tend to go back into archives to process work).
I didn’t shoot a hell of a lot during January but tried to get out for an hour each weekend to get “something”, it helps me retain the skills – too long a break and it takes me an age to get back into image making I’m happy with.
Here are nine images shot during January 2017… My actual favourite is the first shot, made on New Years Day.
